Main Line Philadelphia dSLR Camera Lessons by Aliza Schlabach Photography

This morning I had a lot of fun giving my first education client, Kevin, dSLR camera lessons. He's heading to Utah this summer with his family and wanted to learn how to really take advantage of the Canon Rebel he got a year or two ago.

I'm not a big fan on getting up in front of a crowd or teaching a big class, but I LOVE connecting with individuals on a really personal basis to help them learn and grow. We went over basic camera functions in manual and aperture priority modes (ISO, shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation), and went over his lenses and mine, talking about the strengths and weaknesses of each. We touched on light, composition, what to work on at home, and even gave him a quick Photoshop and Lightroom demonstration. I look forward to our next session when we're going to get outside and start putting the theory to practice.

If you'd like to get out of automatic mode with your dSLR camera and discover all of the creative control you could have, contact me to discuss one-on-one tutoring.
